Reserve your place now for the Solstice Spectacle on either Friday evening, June 22 or Saturday evening, June 23. Both nights will include each of the performances featured below as well as an opportunity for good conversation with good people over a farm-fresh meal sourced locally and prepared in our outdoor community kitchen.

THE WAY AT MIDNIGHT / MONDO BIZARRO

The Way at Midnight explores confrontations with losing and being lost from the colonial period through the digital age and incorporates theatrical performance, visual installation and live and recorded music. Directed by Joanna Russo, Mondo Bizarro’s latest work is inspired by contemporary questions of migration and (dis)orientation.  (Photo by Zack Smith)

THE WASTELANDS / OPEN FLAME THEATER

Following Dante and Virgil through the seven stages of Purgatory, The Wastelands explores the seven stages of grief in a time of violent political and environmental unraveling. Guided by visual, musical, and kinesthetic poetry, The Wastelands travels through places in a process of rewilding and is led by a full, original operatic score composed and arranged by Walken Schweigert, a 2017 Clear Creek artist-in-residence.  (Photo by Erica Fladeland)

EZELL: BALLAD OF A LAND MAN / Clear Creek creative

Ezell:  Ballad of A Land Man is a devised solo theatrical work by Robert Martin exploring trauma associated with forms of domination behavior, land “ownership” and the extractive resource industry. The character of Ezell first appeared in the Clear Creek Creative ensemble-devised Land, Water, Food Story performances and Where's That Power Gonna Come From? Ezell will be presented in June as a work-in-progress and has been supported by an artist residency at Double Edge Theater (Ashfield, MA) and is directed by Nick Slie.  (Photo by Melisa Cardona)

Part utopian instruction manual, part artistic memoir, and part love letter to the sacred work of making radical change, the book Performing Revolutionary: Art, Action, Activism invites us all to learn about public actions and ceremonies for building revolutionary skills. Author Nicole Garneau has been a multi-year artist-in-residence at Clear Creek and will grace us with UPRISINGs as well as other aspects of her ceremonial and production work throughout the Solstice Spectacle.  (Photo by Erica Chambers)
